Description
The nose is floral, with beautiful white spice and a touch of honey dew melon. On the pallet zippy lemon mixed with a mouth-watering saline minerality, the texture is silky and crisp, the typical Watervale acid back bone drives the wine. It is drinking well now but will only get better with a few years!
2023 was a vintage for the ages in the Clare Valley for us. It was the third Lanina in a row, which lead to a late harvest starting in March, with big crops. The great thing was even know we had big crops the quality of fruit was still outstanding.
Vermentino picked on the 18th and 21st of March, we saw flavour early, this led to us picking the grapes with a low sugar, so the wine has a low 10.1% alc/vol, a great thirst quenching wine. The late cool season has created great acidity and balance of flavour.
